Ex-College student, Debbie Thomson, put her creative talents and new-found skills to very good use whilst studying at Northumberland College by playing an important, behind-the-scenes role in a recently released film about the late Catherine Cookson.
Now graduated, Debbie, a former HND Special Effects and Creative Media Makeup student, landed a work placement role as part of her course on ‘Our Catherine’, a short film shot in Jarrow and South Shields.
The film was created by Unified Media for The Word, the new National Centre for the Written Word based in South Shields, and Debbie took the role of hair stylist for the production, creating a 1930’s hairstyle for leading actress, Kerry Browne, playing the role of Catherine Cookson.
The placement was completed for the Work Experience unit on the HND course. Debbie created a short, period-style, wavy bob and gained valuable industry knowledge to put to good use in the future.
Well done, Debbie!
