New and progressing students are invited to come along to speak to Northumberland College’s Higher Education team about HNCs, HNDs and Foundation Degrees.

At the dedicated HE Open Events, members of the public will be able to find out more about the subjects on offer, the college's partnerships with leading universities, as well as information about student loans and the learning support available.

The events are on Wednesday 13 April 11am to 2pm at Northumberland College's Ashington campus and on Wednesday 20 April 11am to 2pm at the Kirkley Hall campus, located in Ponteland.

Higher Education courses available at the College include Access to HE Diplomas in Health or Social Science, PGCEs, HND in Theatrical, Media and Special Effects Make-up, Foundation Degrees in Arboriculture, Animal Management, Equestrian Performance and Coaching and more.

Foundation Degrees, PGCE and Cert Ed courses are offered in partnership with Newcastle University, University of Cumbria and University of Huddersfield.

One in three people now have degrees and forecasts show that those with a degree typically earn more over their working lives than people without academic qualifications, with a premium of up to 34%.

Those higher education learners seeking to study locally may be interested to know that HND study programmes at the College may be topped-up with additional study at university to achieve a full Honours Degree.

Northumberland College has almost doubled its higher education course provision compared to previous years, with 30 courses on offer for September 2016.

The College has also achieved record applications for its HE courses over the last two years and exceeded its enrolment target for the last academic year so advises early application for courses starting in September.
