Northumberland College’s Kirkley Hall Campus held its first Farmers’ Market on Sunday. The event attracted a range of local producers with products ranging from cheeses to meats and preserves to dairy fudge.

Visitors and stall holders alike commented on how successful the event was.

Northumberland College's Kirkley Hall Campus, located in Ponteland near Newcastle upon Tyne, has a long established history as the main provider of land-based education and training in the region, stretching back more than 50 years with a wide range of subjects including agriculture, horticulture and floristry, animal care and equine, arboriculture, countryside and environment and outdoor activity leadership.

The campus already has well established events on the North East calendar with its annual Christmas fair and spring time countryside fair.

The farmers' markets will continue to take place on the last Sunday of the month (excluding June and December) and offer the opportunity to purchase a range of seasonal produce from in and around the local area.
