Northumberland College is gearing up to host ‘Get the Buzz’ an exciting and impartial skills and careers event for young people next month.

This exciting event will attract school groups and young people from across the North East; hundreds of youngsters are already registered to attend.

The event, which is for anyone aged 14 to 24, will take place at the college's Kirkley Hall Campus, near Ponteland, on Wednesday 8 October.

A whole host of have-a-go activities across all sector areas and career paths will be available for visitors to test their practical skills and try careers they might not have had the chance to try before.

Have-a-go activities cover sectors such as outdoor activities, sports, hair and beauty, photography, construction trades, engineering, public services including armed forces and catering and hospitality. Visitors can further enjoy their visit with opportunities to try activities such as archery, zip sliding or clay pigeon shooting to name but a few.

Many employers and education providers representing a whole host of businesses and potential career paths are also signed up to attend to give impartial guidance to those visiting.

Schools are encouraged to register their attendance as well as those young people that are currently not in education employment or training.
