Northumberland College in Berwick is introducing a wide range of Bitesize introductory courses, offering learning opportunities in subjects from first aid for pets, floristry and belly dancing to brickwork and carpentry for just five pounds.

The courses have start dates throughout February, March and April and last for between one day and five weeks. The first course to start is Floristry for Beginners starting on Monday 24 February.

For fifteen pounds, the public will be able to learn how to create a website for a small business, pick up tips on celebrity make-up and gain an introduction to becoming a beauty therapist or hairdresser.

Helen Norris, Schools and Community Leader for Northumberland College, said: "The Bitesize courses offer a great opportunity for local people to access training at an introductory level that might help them change career direction, progress to other training, get back into work or simply find a new interest."

The courses will be run at Northumberland College's main centre on Adams Drive, Spittal, Construction centre at Ramparts business park and The Graduate Hair and Beauty salon in the town centre.

Northumberland College was graded 'Good' by Ofsted last year for teaching and learning and the college's success rates place them in the top 10% of colleges in England.
