Learning Resource Centres at Northumberland College

Learning Support Centres

Our Learning Resource Centres (LSCs) are based at the two main campuses Ashington and Kirkley Hall.

The LSCs are designed to provide quiet and comfortable areas to study and research using state of the art ICT facilities with access to free Wi-Fi. Centralized support with your assignments and course work can also be booked with our Learning Support Team.

The LSCs offer a huge range of resources to support with course study. Use the online library e-books, journals and databases or print texts including books, journals, magazines, DVDs and CDs to assist you with your studies.

Our resources cover everything from construction, computing and sports sciences to animal care, equine studies and agriculture. The libraries also stock a range of careers guides and university prospectuses to help you with progression to university and into employment.

The services offered include an assignment hand-in service, photocopying, laminating and binding for a professional finish to your assignment work.  Stationery and USB sticks are also for sale.

Our helpful LSC and e-learning Assistants are there to help you find what you need. They can give you training and advice on how to use the resources to help you on your chosen course.

Bespoke sessions are offered for groups or one to one sessions on:

  • LSC tour - find out what the LSC has to offer
  • Accessing Athens and using the e-resources
  • Using Heritage Online: the library catalogue
