With Sports Massage becoming a need for everyone from occasional gym-goers to office workers sitting in chairs all day, a wide spectrum of knowledge is critical for a successful career.This course will equip you with essential skills in providing sports massage therapy and will also help you to understand the principles of exercise and human physiology.
There are no entry requirements. A basic backgound of anatomy & physiology would be beneficial.
The course is split between practical & theory. The following assessments must be completed to complete the Level 3 Sports Massage course:
- Practical examination on Maintenance Massage in a Clinical Environment - Pass required
- Practical examination on Pre and Post Event Massage - Pass required
- Coursework and theoretical quizzes throughout the programme - 100% mark required
Usually between 9.30am - 12.30pm
The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with local sports clubs.
This qualification has 5 mandatory units:
- Anatomy & Physiology for Sports Massage
- Principles of Health & Fitness
- Understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction
- Professional practice
- Sports massage treatments / techniques
