This course is aimed at students who already have a Level 2 in IT or who have just finished GCSE with 4 GCSE grade 4's and above (including Maths & English). This course is equal to 1 full A-Level in IT and will allow you to progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT, this route is aimed at students who would like to study at university. You will study website development, social media in business, information systems and IT Systems. This will include an externally assessed exam and internally assessed coursework.
Four GCSEs Grade 9-4 (A*-C) including maths & English or prior attainment of a full Level 2 IT qualification.

|19+||please enquire||All IT equipment to be used throughout the course will be provided to students. It is optional that you bring in your own peripherals (keyboard & mouse) for your own preference. We do ask however, that you bring in a notepad and pencil/pen for theory sessions.|
The course is split up into 2 semesters. The first semester will be taught as a mixture of theory and practical on unit 1 IT Systems and unit 2 Information systems. At the end of semster 1 there will be an externally assessed exam for unit 1 and a peice of coursework for Information Systems. The second semester will be taught as series of practical sessions with theory lectures. The assessments for semester 2 are peices of practical and written coursework including theory, design, practical and reviewing/testing.
Maths and English GCSE Grades 9-4 (or equivalent) are required for new starters. For progressing students there will be opportunities to gain GCSE maths and English Grade 9-4.
Monday - Friday, timetables confirmed at the start of term.
Once completed, you will be able to progress onto the Diploma/extended Diploma in IT which can lead to applying for university. For those not wanting to apply to university this course will give you a good understanding of a wide range of subjects withing the IT world from Programming, Hardware Systems, Website Design, Website Development, Business usage of Social Media and much much more!
