This introduction to Plumbing gives you the basic skills and knowledge required to work as a trainee Plumber.
You ll learn the importance of working safely, how water is affected by gravity, cold/heat and pressure. It will guide you on site preparation, knowing the different grades of copper, which tools to and what they are called. You ll also learn about hot and cold water, drainage, rainwater and renewable energies.
A minimum of 2 GCSE's including English and Maths or equivalent
Our progress will be assessed by assignments issued at regular intervals for each subject. They will need to be completed within a specified amount of time then handed in by a deadline date. There will be college assessed exams to be completed.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm. Days and times of study are subject to change. Timetables are confirmed at the start of term.
This course is suitable for beginners who want to get into Plumbing industry.
You will study installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, above ground drainage pipework (copper, plastic, low carbon steel) and plumbing science.
