This Qualification provides an in-depth understanding of the knowledge and skills required when working directly with children or young people in primary, secondary or special schools.
You will need high levels of motivation, excellent communication skills and hold a prior Level 2 childcare qualification which includes assessment of supporting children and young people in an appropriate setting. DBS clearance and references required.

All units will internally assess your progress through a portfolio of evidence developed using a range of methods including practical assessments, observations, written assignments or tasks relevant to the childcare workforce.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
The course runs for 3 days per week over 1 year in addition you will be required to undertake 2 days placement per week to achieve a minimum of 250 hours of work experience.
this course is ideal if you want to work in a classroom situation with children and young people of any age from toddlers up to those aged 18 in high schools or with children and young people with special educational needs in an education setting.
You will study comprehensive units including children's play, development and behaviour.
