What’s it all about?

The course is for students who have achieved average grades in their GCSEs particularly in Science, Maths and English and who have a dedicated interest in the care and welfare of animals.

Over the two years the course is equivalent to two A Levels and is accepted by Universities.

The recommended entry requirements are: Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care or 4 GCSEs grade 4/5 or above to include English and/or Maths and Science.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of stimulating methods including written assignments, practical assessments / observations and a written exam.

English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.

The course runs for 4 days per week over 1 year. However you will be expected to study and complete assignment work or carry out a work placement on your none college day.
