You will need to have four GCSEs including, English and or maths and preferably two sciences and one other all at grade 4/C or above, or a level 2 qualification in a related subject. The recommended entry requirements are the level 2 Certificate, Extended Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture and/or previous practical experience within an agricultural environment.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of stimulating methods including written assignments, practical assessments/ observations, presentations, group work and identification tests.
English and Maths are important life skills that will help you to achieve your best in your studies and progress to your dream career. If you have not already achieved grade 9-4 in GCSE Maths and/ or English at school, we will support you to improve your skills.
The course runs for 3 days per week over 2 Years.
Providing you with a range of practical skills and knowledge, this course will help you to seek employment or progress into further training within the Agricultural Industry.
The qualification covers a range of topics. The units that are mandatory are: Business Management, Anatomy and Physiology, Plant and Soil Science, Investigative Project, Work Experience.
There are optional units which allow you to pick areas of interest, including: Livestock Production, Agricultural Crop Production, Grassland Management, Livestock Breeding and Nutrition, Farm Habitat Management, Agricultural Crop Handling and Storage, Principles of Inheritance and Genetic Manipulation.
The period of work experience will allow you to gain first-hand experience of working on a farm.
