When you enrol at Northumberland College you will be able to access impartial careers advice and guidance from one of our qualified careers staff in our Careers and Pastoral Support (CAPS) Team to make sure that you have chosen the right course.

 

Careers Guidance Offer at Northumberland College

 
The Careers and Pastoral team (CAPS) in college offer impartial advice and guidance through group work as well as 1:1 meetings to all students to help them explore the full range of post-16 and further progression options available. Your Careers Guidance Officers will support you to make informed decisions about your future. The CAPS Team offer a range of themed tutorials over the year, including careers related sessions covering the topics listed in the calendar below. Tutorials will be developed to cover additional topics on request. 1:1 careers guidance interviews are available throughout the year.

 

Careers staff are present during College Open Evenings at both the Ashington and Kirkley Hall campuses to offer impartial advice and guidance.

 

The College Careers Service is working towards the Gatsby Good Career Guidance Benchmarks.

College Careers Advisers are available over the summer holidays, on A Level and GCSE results days and during enrolment weeks to offer new applicants and returning students impartial careers advice to support them to make the best course and/or progression choice.

If you would like some support contact your tutor or email, call or text the CAPS service or just drop in to see us in our office or ask for an appointment when we see you in a tutorial session.

Alternatively come and see us at an Open Evening
Northumberland College will be offering an impartial careers advice service available for current and potential students during Open Evenings. This service will be on offer at opening evenings between 4pm-7pm in the Help Hub in Ashington and in the Kielder Building at Kirkley Hall. 15-minute time slots will be available for individuals to access this service on a first come first served basis. Bookings are by email or phone call to the Careers Advisers directly using the contact details above.
