Port of Blyth

The Port of Blyth is home to our Renewable Energies courses, providing the ideal location for our wind technician training.

We are a leading provider of wind energy training. Our practical courses have been developed in partnership with industry and are validated by German based training institute BZEE (the pioneer of wind energy training) and the Global Wind Organisation (GWO)

The training is designed to ensure the future workforce are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to work on both onshore and offshore wind farms. Sea survival techniques, with simulated boat transfer training are provided alongside the course together with First Aid and RTIRB/NPORS lifting and slinging training.

The excellent location at the Port of Blyth gives you access to:

  • ORE Catapult (formerly NAREC) and state-of-the-art 27m climbing tower for specific 'working at height' training incorporating passenger lifts internally
  • Nacelles, blades and mechanical and electrical components
  • Port of Blyth training services supplement aspects of the training programme
  • Live working turbines and the sea
  • Close working relationships with several turbine manufacturers
