Small family ran business based in Ovingham, dealing in all types of dry stone walling and stone work. We range from field walls to fancy landscaping projects and cover all types of stone work.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the team at Wakes Walls to complete a Level 2 Bricklaying Apprenticeship.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will be:

Working closely with experienced & skilled stone masons learning all the techniques to work in this trade

Building field walls to

Professional landscaping projects

cover all types of stone work Stone work,

You will work on House Extensions and Barn conversions

Mix mortar and concrete

Use of power tools

Interpret Drawings

Laying Stone

Use laser level

Repair and renew masonry structures

Build decorative brickwork

Working as part of a team and participating fully in all activities

Maintain/update a weekly log book to document training and reviews

Following employer instructions when working, including adhering to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures

Attending workplace at agreed times for an agreed period in order to complete the programme in its full duration8. Skills required: Reliability, Attention to detail, Practical thinker, able to follow instructions, Communication, IT Literate, Customer Service, Works Accurately, ability to follow and work to plans, be able to work as part of a team, Ability to work with and understand units of measurement.

Qualifications required: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification.
