Tynemouth Golf Club welcomes members and visitors. This parkland course, designed by the famous Willie Park in 1913, offers many challenging holes which will test the ability of any golfer. The par 70, 18 hole course is over 6,359 yards, easy walking makes it perfect for golfers of all ages and abilities. Enjoy the course and its facilities which offers excellent hospitality and service in the clubhouse and restaurant. Changing facilities are available, equipment and buggies can be hired if needed from the professional shop. Visiting parties are welcome weekdays and Sunday afternoons and casual visitors may play weekends if there is no competition being played.

Vacancy full description: To carry out routine golf course maintenance as directed by the Head Green-keeper or First Assistant in accordance with the Club’s Golf Course Management Policy and its Health & Safety Policy. You will be trained and responsible for maintenance of the four key turf grass areas on a golf course – greens, tees, fairways and areas of rough. Using a range of equipment and machinery safely and competently. Golf Greenkeepers will also be involved in hazard, environmental and ecological operations which may include bunker maintenance, planting turf, trees, shrubs and developing wildlife habitats.
Skills required: Practical nature, already completed a Level 1 diploma in Horticulture would be an advantage, A passion about Golf/Green Keeping, Understanding of the Green Keepnig industry, Self-motivated, Excellent Customer Service skills, Works Accurately, be able to work as part of a team. Experience of working in a customer service environment would be advantageous. Good communication skills, team working, Keen interest/or knowledge of Golf/Green Keeping

Good attitude towards learning peers and clients is essential, adaptable 10. Qualifications required: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification. 11. Additional Important Information: You will be required to work to the terms and conditions of your contract. You may be required to work early morning, late evenings and weekend on occasion.
