A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join a Building Company based in Bedlington to complete a level 2 Apprenticeship in Site Carpentry & Joinery.


Training to be provided: Level 2 Standard in Carpentry & Joinery


Vacancy full description: The successful candidate will undertake day to day maintenance and repair and improvement work. You will carry out the work to the required standards with efficiency and quality expected by your supervisor (with support and training). You will carry out all aspects of Joinery including fitting window frames, staircases, doors, construction of extensions, bathrooms, garage conversions and general structural alterations, full refurbishments.

You will work on New Build sites and refurbishments and extensions. You will be expected to work within the terms and conditions of your contract of employment and adhere to company policies, procedures, instructions, values and behaviors. You will also have to be willing to help in other areas of the business.


Skills required: Good hands on skills, Practical thinker, able to follow instructions, experience of using hand tools would be an advantage, manually dexterous, ability to follow and work to plans, be able to work as part of a team, ability to work at height.

Personal qualities: True North Construction are looking for a committed and professional apprentice with a genuine interest in Joinery. They must be a good team player, enthusiastic, willing to learn, committed to completing the apprenticeship and have a good work ethic. The applicant must be physically fit. Due to the nature of our work the applicant must have a polite manner, have effective communication skills and must always dress smart and maintain a tidy work area.

Qualifications required: GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification. Have already completed a diploma in Joinery at College.

 Future prospects: Progression to level 3

Reality check: You will be required to work to the terms and conditions of your contract. You may be required to work early morning, late evenings and weekend on occasion.
