Vacancy full description:

Our new apprentice Commis Chef will work alongside our Head Chef and experienced staff, completing training to assist in providing an exemplary kitchen service to our visitors, exceeding their expectations. This role will include:

  • Working closely side by side with our Head Chef
  • Learning to work effectively and efficiently in a fast pace environment;
  • Using great communication skills in our team
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn all aspects and areas of the food service delivery
  • Be committed to completing the apprenticeship
  • Learn how a restaurant and public house works together

You will become a member of our staff, expected to work with in the terms and conditions of your contract of employment and adhere to company policies, procedures, instructions, values and behaviours of the business.

Skills required: Good communication skills, able to pick things up quickly, able to be trained to work well under pressure during busy times, comfortable taking instructions and acting on them appropriately, pro-active in looking for training and work on completion of allocated duties


Personal qualities: Excellent personal hygiene, enthusiastic and willing to learn, committed to completing the apprenticeship, a good work ethic.

Qualifications required: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification.

Future prospects: Progression to level 3, Full time employment
