A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the ever expanding team at North East Property Services to complete a Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship. A grounds maintenance apprentice is required to join our expanding team. Due to continued growth and

Training to be provided: Level 2 Horticulture

During this apprenticeship you will work with a fantastic team to learn practical Horticulture techniques. You will carry out Grounds Maintenance on School sites, Country Parks, Country Estates, Industrial estates as well as Public open green Spaces. The Horticulture grounds maintenance apprenticeship is the perfect stepping stone into the world of hard/soft landscaping and grounds maintenance work. If successful in gaining this apprenticeship North East Property Services will provide you with the practical skills, experience and background knowledge required to progress into a career in this field.

  • Keeping grounds tidy
  • General tidying duties

You will be expected to be creative and bring new ideas. You will effectively manage customer expectations. You will share knowledge and new ideas where required. You will carry out the work to the required standards with efficiency and quality expected by your supervisor (with support and training). You will be expected to work within the terms and conditions of your contract of employment and adhere to company policies, procedures, instructions, values and behaviours.

Skills required: Practical nature, already completed a Level 1 diploma would be an advantage, A passion about Horticulture, Understanding of the Horticulture industry, Self-motivated, Excellent Customer Service skills, Works Accurately, be able to work as part of a team. Experience of working in a customer service environment would be advantageous. Good communication skills, team working Keen interest/or knowledge of Horticultural skills

Qualifications required: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification.

 

Future prospects: Progression to level 3

 

Further training and full time employment

 

Reality check: A pay increase will be given after 3 months for the right candidate. You will work longer hours in the summer and shorter hours in the winter time

Additional Important Information: It is important that you are willing wo work hard and attend work promptly. This is a very busy and high pressured role, therefore attitude and behaviour is a key element for the successful candidate. Respect and communication is KEY! You must be able to take instructions and act on them appropriately
