Henry Colbeck had been a registered collector of Used cooking Oil (UCO) since 2006 when an outbreak of B.S.E prompted the Government to prohibit farmers from feeding food waste, such as UCO, to farm animals which created a disposal problem for our customers in the Fish & Chip Market.
Our UCO collection service was extended in 2018 with the launch of a newly built and installed recycling plant to process the UCO for conversion into green energy.
UCO, a vital source of Green Energy, is a key component of our commitment to reduce global warming. Over a three- year period, we invested considerable energy and resources in the exploration of UCO processing methods, both in the UK and Europe. We applied the knowledge gained in that exploration to refine our own processing systems. Brought into operation in March 2018 and officially opened in June 2018, our newly installed state of the art recycling plant is clean, safe and hygienic.
