This is a fantastic opportunity has arisen for the right applicant to become part of our expanding team based in Hexham

You would be required to work in all aspects of our falconry business and will work many weekends with fixed hours.

You will be included as one of our close-knit team within a customer service environment and as such, your personal presentation and communication skills are an essential part of the job. We aren't looking for highly qualified, we’re looking for highly motivated.

Your daily duties will include:

Feeding, flying, training birds.

Cleaning animal housing and areas around the centre.

Grass cutting, weeding; simple caretaking tasks.

Meeting and greeting customers, displaying birds for them.

Hunting with birds.

 

 

Driving licence and own vehicle desirable but not essential

Ability to communicate verbally with members of the public.

Ability to work as part of a close-knit team

Practical skills

 

 

Compassionate towards animals.

Respectful of animals and people.

A positive work ethic 

Honestly and integrity

 

To progress onto a Level 3 or possible full time employment

Falconry Days is seventeen miles from the nearest large civilisation.  We are surrounded by trees, fields and sky.

About the employer

We are a small family run busy team of professional falconers who have been trading very successfully for twelve years.  Mark and Mandy are the business owners and are supported by head falconer Derek Clark and assistant falconer Gail Greenwood.  We have a strong team of 4 knowledgeable volunteers who help out regularly.

There is a relaxed close-knit atmosphere around our centre and our birds and the customer experience are always the number one priority.

Functional Skills if requiredIn house training with the employer

Your training will be extensive though not formal.

Fast going pace from day one, learning every detail of the birds’ care and training.

Once a week we will ask you to research a specific bird of prey or subject related to falconry to further your understanding and knowledge of the industry; this will be done mostly in your own time.
