The City of Newcastle Golf Club was founded in October 1891 playing on a course on the Town Moor. In 1907, the club moved to Grange Farm at the Three Mile Bridge in Gosforth, which is where it is still today, rated as one of the best courses in the North East and has staged many county events.
The clubhouse offers excellent bar, lounge and restaurant facilities that can be enjoyed with a panoramic view of the 1st and 18th holes and can be hired for private functions, weddings, engagement parties, funerals and more. Our newly refurbished clubhouse will also have a private meeting or seminar room, which can also be used for private dining.

Our new apprentice Commis Chef will work alongside our Head Chef and small team to absorb, implement and excel in providing a professional and efficient food delivery to our guests. This role will cover duties including:
Working alongside Head Chef and small team
Adherence to food hygiene and health & safety regulations
Following instructions with excellent attention to detail
Learn about portion size, wastage and recognising own responsibilities in the workplace
Using communication skills to carry out work within our team
Be ready to learn everything regarding the food service delivery
Support staff during normal service, events, occasions and celebrations
Understand how the catering service compliments the Club
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the work and service area at all times
Take responsibility for own duties and section while continuing to learn
Skills required: Be willing to learn new skills, be able to take and follow instruction, be a very good timekeeper, have a flexible approach to working, have a basic knowledge and understanding of how a kitchen works (preferred but not essential)
Personal qualities: Very good personal hygiene and understanding why this is essential, be enthusiastic and ready to learn about cooking styles, techniques, a positive work ethic.
Qualifications required: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent). Functional skills will be undertaken at College by applicants without this qualification.
Future prospects: Progression to level 3, Full time employment
