100% of our students making an application through UCAS were successful in securing their place the vast majority at their first choice institution and these were at some of the top universities in the UK.

The department has gone from strength to strength in recent years and we have expanded our provision delivering on 3 campuses Ashington, Hexham and now Newcastle.   We now offer Performing Arts based at the Hexham campus and delivered in association with the Queens Hall Hexham.  We offer the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (FAD) from professional studios at Bamburgh House in the centre of Newcastle in collaboration with Breeze Creatives.  This year will see the introduction of an exciting new course at Ashington in Music Production and DJ'ing.

It is easy to underestimate the influence of the Creative Sector in our economy with many people still wrongly viewing the Arts as a hobby activity.  The Creative Industries are the fastest growing sector of the UK economy.  The number of creative jobs in the UK rose by 66,000 to 2.62million in 2013 as creative roles grew faster than the rest of the economy.  For example there are now more jobs in the creative industries than there are in the IT industry one in every 12 UK roles is now a creative job.

So whether you see yourself working as a Fashion Designer, Photographer, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Artist, Games Designer, DJ, Music Producer, performing Artist, Actor or in any other artistic role, our School of Art and Design offers a stimulating environment to create and craft your way to a career in the Creative Industries.

Our inspirational tutors most of whom are currently working in industry have many years of professional experience to help you succeed in your chosen field. Many of our past students have gone on to study at top UK universities and found great success in their chosen field.

Thank you for showing interest in our College, there are regular careers events and we look forward to welcoming you, should you choose to undertake one of our courses.
