Who is the course for?

Airline and Aviation Services will suit you if you already have some knowledge of or experience in the travel and tourism industry. This can be also recommended for anyone wishing to pursue a career change. You will learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression

Do I need any formal qualifications?

4 x GCSE Grade 3 or above or equivalent qualifications (including Maths and English). Progression from Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism will also be accepted. This can be discussed at interview to ensure that you are on the correct level of study.

What will I study on the course?

These qualifications will help you develop specialist knowledge and skills such as:

Working as cabin crew Health and Safety in Aviation

Airline health, safety and security Security in Aviation

Aircraft emergency situations Communications in Aviation

Dealing with passengers on board an aircraft Airport check in services

Cabin service- selling techniques Aircraft boarding and arrival services

Making passenger announcements on board Airport baggage processing

Loading and unloading of aircraft

Airport baggage facilities

Aviation passengers with special req

Aircraft Load Instruction Report

Aircraft Marshalling

Support flight operations

Aircraft dispatch process

Full Time ( 4 days per week) over a duration of one year

You will be assessed using a range of methods that will benefit your understanding of the industry and learn practical skills throughout the year.

- Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) at Emirates Airline

This course includes a Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew

Level 2 Diploma in Aviation Environment and Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to cabin crew

Successful students may progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
