Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone who is employed in the land based sector, particularly arboriculture, or those seeking employment in this field.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You will need to have an interest in the course and some practical use of machinery would be beneficial, but no formal qualifications are necessary.

What will I study on the course?

You will study Health and Safety requirements, preparing and maintaining the chainsaw, crosscutting to specified standard, protective clothing and safety equipment.

The course runs for two days and the assessment takes place on a different day.

Your progress will be assessed through observation during training.

After completing the course you could apply for another Certificate of Competence training course e.g. CS31, CS32 Fell Medium Trees, CS38 Climb a Tree and Perform Aerial Rescue.
