Who is the course for?

HR Professionals typically either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR team delivering front line support to managers and employees, or an HR Advisor in a smaller organisation.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

Entry requirements will typically be set by each employer however where a HR Support Apprentice has not already achieved Level 2 English and Maths, they must do so before taking the end-point assessment.

This is a level 3 Apprenticeship so participants need to be able undertake independent guided research, have good levels of confidence in the use of ICT, effective personal management skills and communication.

What will I study on the course?

This Apprenticeship will focus on a wide range knowledge and skills vital to staff working in an HR Support role and can include:

- Your knowledge of the structure of your organisation; the products and services it delivers; the external market and sector within which it operates; where your role fits in the organisation; the Values by which it operates and how these apply to your role within HR Support.

- A basic understanding of HR in your sector and any unique features it has.

- Good understanding of HR legislation and the HR Policy framework of your organisation.

- A sound understanding of the HR Policies that are relevant to your role.

- Knowledge of where to find expert advice.

- Understanding of the role and focus of HR within your organisation; its business plan / priorities and how these apply to your role.

- Understanding of the systems, tools and processes used in your role, together with the standards to be met, including the core HR systems used by your organisation.

This programme is delivered 80% in the workplace and 20% through workshops and off the job sessions which may take place College. Some of the workshops will be integrated with students undertaking other management Apprenticeships or qualifications.

Apprenticeship Standards are formally assessed via End Pont Assessment. The End Point Assessment for this Standard includes a Consultative Project and a Professional Discussion .

All participants must successfully pass through an assessment Gateway before undertaking the End Point Assessment.

Either before or during the apprenticeship, apprentices will be required to achieve level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics prior to taking end point assessment (EPA).
