Who is the course for?

These qualifications are regulated in the RQF for learners aged 16 years and over.

These qualifications have been developed so they are free from any barriers that restrict access or progression and therefore promote equal opportunities.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications.

There is no requirement for any specific prior learning. We recommend that an initial assessment should take place to ensure the candidate is capable of reaching the required standards.

What will I study on the course?

Candidates will work through a range of agreed units to the value of 17 credits (to be agreed with the candidate). Evidence is portfolio based.

Work placed learning.

Ongoing assessment.

Portfolio based.

Candidates will be expected to generated evidence through work placement and also simulated activities.

Assessment is ongoing over the duration of the course. Examples of assessment may include questions and answers, simulation, observation.

GLH are 80 hours therefore any additional opportunities for gaining extra qualifications would have to be agreed at the start of the course with the Course Tutor.

OCR NVQ Certificate in Team Leading Level 2

Opportunities to develop Team Leading Managerial skills at a higher level may be available.

This will be assessed via learner evaluation/end of course at the end of the course.

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
