Who is the course for?

Learners who are employed and looking to progress within their existing employment.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

This qualification provides an opportunity to gain the basic skills and knowledge needed for a career in customer service or any job which involves dealing with customers, encompassing a broad range of competencies from the customer service sector.

This NVQ has been designed so that some evidence can be gained from the workplace and some from simulation.

What will I study on the course?

Candidates attending this course will study a variety of units that will be chosen according to their individual circumstances and CPD requirements. This will be agreed with the Tutor on the first day of the course.

Work placed learning with contact with candidates in the workplace at 6 week intervals.

Assessment will be portfolio based.

Evidence record sheets will be signed off at intervals to ensure that sufficient information is captured.

Examples of assessment methods will also include observation and questions and answers.

As the guided learning hours are high for this course there will not be opportunity to gain any additional qualifications on this course.

OCR Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Customer Service

Possible opportunities to progress to Team Leading of Management qualifications could be made available. Next steps will be discussed at the end of the course and a new agreement drawn up between Tutor and Candidate.

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
