Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone interested in taking their first steps towards a career in Health and Social Care. This is a vocationally related qualification, where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context. It will engage learners to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills that are essential for the modern workplace including: team working; following instructions; working to deadlines; presenting information effectively and accurately completing tasks. This course will motivate learners in their Health and Social Care ambitions to pursue further study and responsibility within the workplace.
Do I need any formal qualifications?
You should have two GCSEs at Grade D or above or a relevant Level 1 Qualification and Function Skills in English at Level 1 plus good communication skills. DBS clearance and references required.
What will I study on the course?
You will learn about working in the Health and Social care sector, anatomy and physiology, equality diversity and rights and safeguarding and spend time in a placement setting. Ideal if you would like to work in health and social care in jobs such as Care Assistant, Support Worker or Personal Assistant
