Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone wishing to enhance their practical skills in MIG welding.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You will need to have a Level 1 3268 in MIG welding or industry experience.

What will I study on the course?

You will study a number of different topics including health and safety and the safe operation of the MIG welding equipment. You will practically train to complete five welding assessments.

The course runs from September till March where you will attend college one night a week (Tue) for 24 weeks. You will complete five practical weld tests and answer fifteen oral questions.

Your progress will be assessed by practical tasks throughout the course, by the course team, to ensure competency and destructive tests performed.

You can attend college on a different night and train in a different welding process.

City and Guilds Award in Welding Skills (QCF) Level 2

After completing the course you can progress onto the 3268 Level 3 or train in a different welding process.
