Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone buying, handling or storing pesticides.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You will need to an interest in the course and some experience of pesticide application would be beneficial, but no formal qualifications are necessary.

What will I study on the course?

You will study legislation, COSHH, personal protective equipment, product labels, storage, safe transport of pesticides, personal hygiene, avoiding pesticide contamination, records to be kept, environmental aspects and preventing water contamination

The course is covered in one day. A computer based assessment is taken at the end of the day.

Your progress will be assessed a Global Online Assessment (GOLA), a computer based assessment which will give you your result at the end of the test.

You may also have the opportunity to complement your studies with other qualifications that will help you gain employment, including

the PA2 Tractor Mounted Sprayer or PA6 Hand Held Applicator Knapsack Sprayer certificates.

After completing the course you could study a TBA.

After completing the course you could apply for another certificate of competence training course of a relevant type e.g. machine operations.
