Who is the course for?

This course is for people who are employed in the land based sector, particularly arboriculture, or those seeking employment in this field.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You will need to an interest in the course, but no formal qualifications are necessary.

What will I study on the course?

You will study undertaking a risk assessment of tree climbing operations, selecting, inspecting and using a range of tree climbing equipment, safely climbing a tree, moving around the crown and descending to the ground, carrying out aerial rescues from different situations.

The course runs for four days and assessment takes place on a different day.

Your progress will be assessed through observation during training.

CG Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue Level 3

After completing the course you could apply for another Certificate of Competence training course e.g. Basic Chainsaw Use, Crosscutting and Maintenance.
