Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone employed in the land based sector, particularly arboriculture, or those seeking employment in this field.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You will need to have the NPTC Certificate of Competence in Basic Chainsaw Use 002003

What will I study on the course?

You will study Health and Safety requirements, protective clothing and safety equipment, felling, take down of hung up trees, use of felling aids and tools.

The course runs for three days and assessment takes place on a different day.

Your progress will be assessed on a separate day to be confirmed at the time of booking, this will take 2 hours

This is the entry level chainsaw qualification required for any further chainsaw training.

After completing the course you could apply for another Certificate of Competence training course e.g. CS32 Fell Medium Trees, CS38 Climb a Tree and Perform Aerial Rescue.
