Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone who works in the construction or engineering industry that uses a petrol cut off saw or grinder, and changes the blade.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You do not need any formal qualifications to join this course.

What will I study on the course?

You will study units including identifying hazards, risks precautions, marking, showing type and maximum operating speed, storage and transportation, inspecting and testing, functions of components, assembly and use of PPE.

The course is delivered in one full day session

Your progress will be assessed during the course using a combination of a practical assessment and job knowledge questions.

Functional Skills in maths and English at the relevant level and Employability Skills

After successfully completing the course, you could enrol onto a level 1 or 2 construction diploma course.
