Who is the course for?
The course is for anyone who has an interest in the construction industry who would like to develop their skills and knowledge to become a bricklayer qualified to a level 2 diploma standard. Do I need any formal qualifications?
You should have two GCSEs at grade D in English and maths or a relevant Level 1 qualification and have an interest in bricklaying. Following a successful interview and initial assessment results, you will be allocated a place to study the practical and theoretical elements of bricklaying. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the interview but not the initial assessment
What will I study on the course?
You will learn thin joint masonry cladding, solid walling, cavity walling and both isolated and attached piers. Units will also cover safe working practices, contributing to setting out and several other bricklaying skills. Ideal if you would like to further develop your bricklaying skills and knowledge.
