Who is the course for?

Level 3 is ideal if you've worked in Beauty Therapy for some time or have taken a Level 2. Your work might involve supervising others or managing resources, or if you want to develop your skills further perhaps to gain specialist skills or move into a management role.

There are a range of shorter awards, a longer certificate and several diplomas are available at Level 3.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You should have four GCSEs at Grade C or above or a relevant Level 2 Qualification. You will be required to have a salon placement in order to do this course.

What will I study on the course?

You will build upon your current skills incorporating further treatments such as epilation, hot and cold stone therapy and microdermabrasion. This Qualification is essential if you want to progress in the beauty therapy industry.

The course is delivered 3 days per week over 1 Year.

Your progress will be assessed by a range of methods including practical assessments/ observations, written assignments, and on-line tests.

You may also have the opportunity to complement your studies with other qualifications that will help you gain employment, including employability skills, functional skills of Maths and English. Electro-epilation could be offered as an additionality if you were interested in progressing to Level 4.

After completing the course you could study a Level 4 Diploma in Management Practice and Advanced Techniques in the Beauty sector

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
