Who is the course for?

This intensive, hands on course is designed to give you the opportunity to become a commercial Creative Problem Solver in graphics, illustration and associated industries.

You will develop your own personal conceptual and creative identity to prepare you for a career in the communication industries.

Tutors are industry professionals who will help you develop your design awareness skills and use the design process to invent innovative design solutions in response to assignments covering advertising, illustration for books, print, magazines, screen based media, interactive web design, short film, promotion, identity and packaging design. You will work on many live briefs and enjoy the benefits of taking part in industry-led competitions.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

Students will have normally completed one of the following:

* Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.

* BTEC Diploma in Art and Design Level 3.

* Access to HE in Art and Design or Media.

* 2 A Levels at grade C or above or equivalent.

We are happy to consider those who possess a high level of experience in art and design but may not possess formal qualifications. Those returning to education with life skills and experience in the workplace would also be considered.

What will I study on the course?

You will have the opportunity to work across a range of disciplines or specialise in a specific area of interest.

Contextual studies

Professional practice

Upon successful completion you could progress to the second year of a degree course at University.

Higher Education learners are entitled to apply for HE Loans that cover the cost of tuition. In addition, depending on your chosen course of study and individual circumstances, you may be entitled to a maintenance loan. You may also qualify for a college bursary All learners can also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals for learners resident in houses where income is below £25000 annually.
