Who is the course for?

Level 2 will suit you if you already have some knowledge of or experience in the travel and toursim industry. You will learn, develop and practise the skills required for emplyment and/or career progression

Do I need any formal qualifications?

4 x GCSE's Grade 3 or abovew or equivalent qualifications (including Maths and English).

Progression from Level 1 Diploma in Travel and Touism will also be accepted. This can be discussed at interview to ensure you are on the currect level of study

What will I study on the course?

This qualification will help you develop specialist knowledge and skills such as:

Resort Representatives

Worldwide Travel and Tourism

UK Travel and Tourism Destinations

Travel and Tourism Services

Reort Representatives

UK Tourism

Skills for Working in Travel and Tourism

Retail Travel

Full Time (3 days per week)

You will be assessed using a range of methods that will benefit your understanding of the industry and learn practical skills throughout the year:

research tasks (part of an assignment)

short-answer questions (part of an assignment)

practical tasks (part of an assignment)

online e-assessments

You will also complete an Award in Occupational Studies

City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Successful students may progress on to our specialist qualification Level 2 Diploma in Aviation and Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew or our Level 3 Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
