Who is the course for?
HND in Health and Social care is a healthcare professional qualification intended for those who wish to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding across the health and social care sector. It will equip you for employment at deputy manager level by developing the skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for working at this level. In addition, it will prepare you to progress to further development at a higher level if desired for example courses such as nursing, midwifery or working with older adults.
This programme is highly work related and practical, so an element of work placement required.
Do I need any formal qualifications?
You need a Level 4 qualification e.g. an HNC or other Level 4 equivalent in health and social care or a related subject including work experience within a health and social care environment. Students must be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to meet the requirements of this training. All candidates must undertake an interview, initial assessment and apply for or demonstrate DBS clearance to confirm that they do not have a criminal background which might prevent them from working with young people or vulnerable adults.
