Who is the course for?

This course is designed for people to further enhance skills and prepare for the next step in your career with our Professional Diploma in Accounting. This course is for someone with an aspiration to progress their career in accounting, finance or office management.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

You should have a recent L3 Accounting Qualification or equivalent or have significant work experience in an accounting role. You must also be willing to complete additional tasks set by the tutor at home

What will I study on the course?

You will cover statements for limited companies, interpretation of company accounts and complex management accounting tasks and you can really hone your skills with optional specialist units including taxation, auditing and cash management. Once you ve passed, you will automatically become an AAT affiliate member, and if you have relevant work experience you can qualify for AAT full professional membership

These courses last approx. 36 weeks and will run from September 2018 as follows: At Ashington - Tuesday 10am - 4pm or 1pm - 7.30pm . Please call the Ashington Help Hub for more details. Apprentices may start at various points throughout the year.

This course has end of unit assessments and you will have ongoing support from tutors.

This is a very demanding course and it is unlikely that you will have time to complete additional qualifications.

AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting - Level 4

Many of our learners study for free with a Fee Waiver when they are in receipt of qualifying benefits or studying a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification and meet age restrictions or are aged between 16-18.

If you are not entitled to a Fee Waiver, you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help with paying your course fees, or if you are aged over 19 and planning to study at Level 3 or 4 and have not previously studied at Level 3 or above you will be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan that covers the costs of your tuition fees. The loan will not cover the cost of any examination / registration fees and these will need to be paid for separately, or you may be entitled to receive Learner Support Funds to help cover the cost.

All learners may also apply for help with the cost of travel to college and the college may be able to help with the costs of childcare, travel, books, equipment and meals.
