Who is the course for?

This course is designed to give you a taster of what lambing is all about.

Do I need any formal qualifications?

There are no entry requirements for this course

What will I study on the course?

This practical course covers all aspects of lambing management and includes: Care of the ewe before and after lambing, Care of the new born lamb, Difficult and assisted births, Lamb survival techniques and Fostering. Candidates should come suitable dressed to be around livestock.

How is the course organised

This short course runs for 6 hours and starts on the 24th March, not the 17th as originally advertised.  This is to give the candidates the best possible experience and fit in with when the sheep are lambing.

How will my progress be assessed?

You will receive theoretical and practical guidance from the tutor throughout the course.

Can I gain any extra qualifications while on the course?

No, however you may wish to study another short course with us or join one of our longer courses which will gain you a qualification.

What final qualification will I get if I am successful?
