Northumberland College will be exhibiting at North East Skills, the biggest annual skills and careers event for 15 to 24 year olds in the region.

The free, two day event takes place from 24 September and will see around 6,000 visitors attend to get inspiration about their future career direction.
Hands-on interactive features will give young people a taste of different occupations, plus education skills providers will be gathered under one roof to provide information, advice and guidance about training courses and qualifications.
Northumberland College will have information about the hundreds of courses that are available from its campuses, which range from Entry Level to Foundation Degree and include Apprenticeships. The college will also engage with young people, teachers and parents with a jungle-themed display.
The display will feature snakes, a scorpion, spiders and a tenrec from the college's Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens at its Kirkley Hall Campus based in Ponteland.
The zoo has gone from strength to strength since opening in May 2011 and received praise in the college's latest Ofsted inspection for being a unique and outstanding facility. Students that study at the college's Kirkley Hall Campus may choose courses in agriculture, animal care, arboriculture, countryside management, equine, horticulture, outdoor education and veterinary nursing.
Typical career progression opportunities for successful students include those within animal care, estates management, garden design, activity team leadership and veterinary.
The zoo provides just one of the college's many real-working environments that enable students to receive realistic vocational training. College staff will also be on hand to outline other industry-standard facilities available at its campuses, which include an equestrian centre, two commercially run farms, art, fashion and graphics studios, large construction and engineering workshops, restaurant, professional kitchens, hair and beauty salons and a replica aircraft.
The college, which is rated within the top ten per cent in England and is rated grade two by Ofsted is also investing £9m in new facilities at its Ashington and Kirkley Hall campuses over the next 18 months.
