Photography student Laura Hardy is hosting her first solo exhibition in Wooler later this month.

Members of the public will be able to view Laura's exhibition 'Country Life though a Lens' at Florin of Wooler from 23 to 31 May.

29-year-old Laura from Glanton is in the second year of her HND in Photography at Northumberland College. She said: "The aim of this exhibition is to get my work recognised more and for local people to be a part of my photography. If it wasn't for the people who have used me as a photographer and for the surroundings I live in, I may not have achieved as much as I have to this date; I have sold to local clients as well as customers as far as London, Monaco and South Africa.

"I'm so thankful for the support of my family and friends and can't wait for them to see my exhibition and I am really looking forward to it too."

Course Team Leader, Jacqui Dixon said: "Laura organised the exhibition herself as part of the important work-based element of the course. Exhibiting work is a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain recognition for their work as well as giving them valuable professional experience."

The HND in Photography course at Northumberland College provides the traditional skills of image making combined with an ability to work professionally in the digital environment. Graduates can be accepted into the final year of a degree course or move into jobs in the industry.
