A student from Northumberland College's Football Academy has been awarded Northumberland Football Association's Young Volunteer of the Year Award for his dedication to volunteering across local sporting clubs in the North East.
A Northumberland College Welding student has been offered full-time employment after impressing North East based fabrication and welding company, Northern Structures Ltd, during a two-week work experience placement.
Following an Ofsted inspection that was carried out in May, governors, staff and students at Northumberland College are celebrating Ofsted’s official findings, which praise the college for its clear vision to deliver high quality learning and its findings confirm the college as one of the best in the region.
New programme to help businesses identify future skills needs.
orthumberland College is leading a new £4.9 million ESF programme, ‘Funding Solutions for Businesses’. The programme aims to address the current skills gap by engaging more effectively with SMEs to help them assess their training and business needs. Once their needs have been identified the intention is to provide support and interventions to assist their development and growth.
Additionally, the programme is aiming to work as a catalyst for businesses and training providers to establish future training requirements and recommend qualifications and /or courses that may require development to ensure that relevant and suitable training is available to address future business needs across the North East.
This role would suit a business minded student who has imagination and ideas and is passionate about entrepreneurship. He/ she must be confident and articulate with determination to succeed in the role, build up the Enterprise Society and increase student membership.
