Our two commercially run farms at Kirkley Hall and
Carlcroft in the Cheviot Hills provide an ideal
environment in which to study.
Our unique partnership with the farming community gives
our students access to hands on training in a wide range of
farming practices.
The industry has experienced massive change and we
are working closely with key farming figures to make sure
our training continues to meet the emerging needs of
the industry.
We are currently working with City and Guilds to design a
new specialist sheep course to capitalise on Kirkley's unique
history and experience in this area, as well as being the
home of the National Sheep Centre. Details are yet to be
confirmed but we would hope to launch this course for
September 2012, if you are interested in this option please
contact us on 01670 841229.
We have recently invested in new cattle, sheep and poultry
livestock, upgraded our farm buildings and machinery and
will be introducing a small outdoor pig enterprise in the
near future.
Our students are actively involved in all livestock and land
operations on the two farms throughout the year as well as
gaining additional experience at local farms in specialisms
such as dairy and arable.
