Connexions

Connexions advisors are available to help and encourage you to think about routes into employment, further and higher education. Help is available on a one to one or group basis.

What is Connexions?
Connexions is a well established service for all 13-19 year olds and up to 25 years for young people with disabilities. It brings together a range of services, to help young people make decisions about their future.

What can Connexions do for you?
The service is provided through the role of a Personal Adviser who will help you, because everyone needs a little help now and then, some more than others.

This is the Connexions Promise to You. We will:

  • Treat you as an individual, with care, respect and confidentiality
  • Listen to you, without making judgements, and help you to identify and take action on the options open to you
  • Challenge and encourage you to make the most of your life and opportunities available to you
  • Ensure you have access to impartial information, advice and guidance to help you make informed choices about your future and progress into adult life
  • Help you to overcome barriers by supporting you to access to services you need from a range of agencies
  • Involve you in shaping your Connexions Service

This is the Connexions Vision for You:
Our vision is that all young people in Northumberland, regardless of their personal circumstances, make a happy and successful transition into adult life.

Where can I find Connexions?
The College has a Connexions Service on campus. The Connexions Team of Personal Advisers is located opposite the Refectory at the Ashington Campus.

Opening Times and Contact Details
Connexions staff are available from 8.30am until 5.00pm (4.30pm on Fridays) throughout the year. Staff are available to offer advice and guidance through:

Weather forces college closures

Northumberland College was forced to close its centres this morning (Thursday) due to the ongoing snow.

All students are advised that there will be no lessons this afternoon or evening at any centres. The college expects to open as normal again tomorrow (Friday).

The college phone system is currently down, so we are unable to take any calls.

Engineers are working hard to fix the problem and hope to have the system back up and running soon. In the meantime, you can email advice.centre@northland.ac.uk or use the Live support service via the button on this home page to access our contact centre staff.

Apologies for any inconvenience.
