When you study at Northumberland College you may end up going further than you thought, with opportunities to travel abroad as part of your course.
We aim to prepare our students to not just work here in the UK, but also to make the most of the wealth of job opportunities in Europe and elsewhere in the world.
To achieve this we often provide our students with opportunities to travel to other countries. You could end up studying part of your course at a college in Finland, doing a work placement in Holland, or working on a project with students in Turkey, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to help improve your future employment prospects.
Best of all, you won't have to pay a penny for your trip abroad, thanks to organisations like the British Council who finance the college to develop these opportunities.
We currently have links with partner colleges and organisations in Norway, Finland, Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Estonia and Lithuania, and have recently developed links with Sri Lanka and Korea.
The INVOLVE project
Northumberland College has been funded by the European Union’s Life Long Learning Programme to participate in a two year partnership project entitled INVOLVE, working with similar organisations in Germany, Italy, Spain, Macedonia, Romania and the Czech Republic.
The project will involve adult educators as well as adult education organisations to exchange their methods, practices and experiences and knowledge. They will all be actively involved in the Learning Partnership and will participate in meetings in the countries concerned to exchange and generate good practice and innovative ideas.
See attached for more information on this project.
