Welcome to the under 16s section of the website which provides information for prospective students, parents and schools.

The College has long, established links with schools in Northumberland and other North East counties and offers a wide range of vocationally related courses in construction, engineering, motor vehicle, hairdressing, beauty therapy, and catering, specifically for year 10 and 11 students.

These options are decided in Year 9 in school and students attend college for one day per week in Years 10 and 11. 

This is a practical vocational route where you can work towards nationally recognised qualifications which can help you to access career routes in your chosen area including progression onto apprenticeship programmes.

We are here to help you achieve your potential. Your college and school tutors will work together with you to help you to achieve your learning goals in the best way possible.

Weather forces college closures

Northumberland College was forced to close its centres this morning (Thursday) due to the ongoing snow.

All students are advised that there will be no lessons this afternoon or evening at any centres. The college expects to open as normal again tomorrow (Friday).

The college phone system is currently down, so we are unable to take any calls.

Engineers are working hard to fix the problem and hope to have the system back up and running soon. In the meantime, you can email advice.centre@northland.ac.uk or use the Live support service via the button on this home page to access our contact centre staff.
