The College had exciting plans for a new £50m college campus which it was hoped would kick-start the regeneration of Ashington town centre but, due to national LSC capital budget cuts, these plans have been put on hold.
Obviously, this was a huge disappointment for the College and the community it serves but the College still firmly believes in the ideals and values that the new build project embodied. As such, we will be exploring alternative accommodation strategies over the course of the 2009/2010 academic year. This process began with an all-staff consultation event in July 2009 and learners and other members of the College community will have the opportunity to have their say on how we move forward via the Learner Parliament and our Voicebox service.
