The information technology department at Northumberland College offers a broad range of learning opportunities for people working in IT, as well as those preparing for a career in fields including IT support, computer networking and server support.
In addition we provide training in a number of computer applications for people who want to develop skills to help them enter or progress in office based careers.
Our suite of full time, part time and short courses begin at entry level and extend to higher education.
A range of convenient locations and flexible learning options mean you can fit your studies around your lifestyle or current work commitments.
Many of our part time courses are offered through the day, in the evenings or by distance learning. They can be accessed at our main campus in Ashington as well as other venues throughout Northumberland including Berwick and Blyth.
In Ashington we have a well equipped IT suite with more than 100 PCs. In the IT centre itself you will have access to a wide range of industry standard software including the full Microsoft Office suite, multimedia applications and access to your own virtual learning environment.
We partner Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA in a number of our networking courses leading to certificated, well recognised qualifications within the industry. We have four hardware laboratories to offer the very latest networking, security and operating system developments including Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
We can also offer a range of IT courses to companies wishing to update the skills of their employees. If you are a business owner looking to develop your workforce, our experienced IT staff can discuss courses and funding with you and create a training package tailor made to suit your needs.
